The Resort
While the resort is a haven for beginners and intermediates, it also holds surprises for more advanced skiers, such as the infamous 'Väggen' (The Wall) at Hundfjället, one of Scandinavia's steepest groomed runs. The resort areas—Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen, and Hundfjället—each have their own unique character, ranging from bustling activity centers with indoor water parks to classic, serene mountain hotels.
Beyond alpine skiing, Sälen boasts extensive cross-country trails, vibrant après-ski scenes at Högfjället, and easy access via the nearby Scandinavian Mountains Airport. Its seamless blend of accessible terrain, ski-in/ski-out lodging, and off-slope entertainment makes it an enduring favorite for winter holidays.

The skiing in Sälen is predominantly focused on wide, forgiving blue and green runs, making it an ideal environment for learning and cruising. More experienced skiers can head to Tandådalen for excellent snow parks and red runs, or challenge themselves on the steep black pistes of Hundfjället.
