Chalet Akon sits at the upper end of Livigno, 100 metres from the Cassana Gondola — the most convenient lift for beginners and a direct route into the Carosello ski area. The Mottolino side of the resort, better suited to intermediates and advanced skiers, is a four-minute drive away, with free shuttle services running throughout the day. Restaurants, bars, and shops are within a two-minute walk, giving guests immediate access to the village without needing to head into the centre. Livigno's main shopping street, Via Plan, is an eleven-minute walk. Livigno Lake, a quieter spot north of town, is around fifteen minutes on foot or a short drive. The resort's duty-free status makes it a practical base as well as a scenic one.

Italy's 'Little Tibet' offering duty-free shopping, reliable snow, and spectacular alpine skiing.
Livigno, affectionately known as 'Little Tibet' due to its high altitude and remote location near the Swiss border, is one of Italy's most snow-sure ski resorts. Stretching along a sunny valley at 1,816m, the town blends traditional Alpine charm with a vibrant atmosphere, bolstered by its historic duty-free status that draws shoppers and revellers from across Europe. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels will find something to love, from the gentle beginner slopes that run right down to the valley floor, to the exhilarating freeride routes higher up the peaks. Beyond the slopes, Livigno boasts a lively après-ski scene, exceptional Italian cuisine, and unique activities like fat-biking and ice driving. Its combination of excellent altitude, modern lift infrastructure, and welcoming Italian hospitality makes it a top-tier destination for families, freestyle enthusiasts, and intermediate cruisers seeking a well-rounded winter holiday.
