About Deer Lodge
Built in 1923 as a teahouse and converted to a hotel two years later, Deer Lodge is one of the oldest properties in the Lake Louise area and one of the few that has preserved its original hand-hewn log construction. The architecture is genuinely historic rather than styled to appear so, and the interiors reflect that authenticity. Room categories span three distinct types: Lodge rooms with double or twin beds in compact mountain-style configurations; Heritage rooms in the newer wing offering standard sizing with double or king beds, balcony access, telephone and coffee maker; and Tower rooms with queen beds positioned within the original turret — arguably the most characterful option in the building. All rooms include a private bathroom with bath, shower and WC. On-site facilities include a restaurant, bar, spa, sauna and hot tub. The property offers ski-in, ski-out access, with a garden and balcony spaces rounding out the outdoor amenities. For guests who return to Lake Louise season after season, Deer Lodge tends to be the reason.
