La Plagne is a sprawling and incredibly diverse ski destination located in the Tarentaise Valley of the French Alps. Comprising 11 distinct villages ranging from purpose-built, high-altitude hubs like Plagne Centre and Belle Plagne to traditional, lower-valley farming communities like Champagny and Montchavin, the resort offers an environment to suit almost every taste and budget. It is renowned for its sheer scale, accessibility, and family-friendly atmosphere. Connected to neighboring Les Arcs via the spectacular double-decker Vanoise Express cable car, La Plagne forms half of the immense Paradiski domain, offering 425km of interconnected slopes. The terrain within La Plagne itself heavily favors beginners and intermediates, with wide, sweeping blue and red runs dominating the plateau. However, advanced skiers and freeriders will find serious challenges on the Bellecôte glacier and the steep off-piste routes dropping down into the valley. Off the slopes, La Plagne has a lively but unpretentious vibe. The high-altitude villages are largely ski-in/ski-out and connected by free shuttle buses and gondolas, making navigation seamless.
